Scarecrow Exhibition – 1st Edition

A widespread event that brings together youth sport, rural tradition, local heritage and tourism, transforming Romagna into a journey of creativity, local identity and authentic flavours.

A project that combines sport, tradition and local heritage.

The Scarecrow Exhibition was created with the aim of offering an original and engaging experience, designed to connect the world of youth sport with the agricultural and tourism identity of the local area. Starting from the end of March, youth football teams from all over Italy, staying in the local municipalities during the spring tournaments, will bring and place their own scarecrows. Alongside them, private citizens, farms from Emilia-Romagna and local businesses will also take part, helping to make the initiative increasingly representative, lively and deeply connected to the region.

How the Exhibition Works

Each scarecrow may include:
  • the name of its creator
  • the town or city it comes from
  • optionally, a proverb or a typical anecdote from its place of origin
The works will be displayed on a field where the outline of Italy will be recreated. Each creation will be placed on the map according to its city of origin, giving shape to a symbolic representation of the country made up of traditions, creativity and local identities.

Several small artisanal businesses will take part with their own scarecrow and present their products through tastings and moments of interaction with the public, highlighting authentic flavors, local traditions and the strong connection with the land.

May / June – New teams, new creations

During May and June, new youth teams will arrive for the sports tournaments, bringing more scarecrows that will further enrich the exhibition. The display will gradually grow until mid-June, making the initiative increasingly engaging, representative and lively.
